Puedos Tu Solito is a fantastic horror drama exclusively available on Cineshort. Our protagonist Pablo is old enough to use the bathroom alone, but his fears don't allow it. Inevitably, after a certain age, it's impossible for parents to accompany him everywhere. Pablo overcomes his fears and has now become a 'real man.' The subject matter is particularly valuable as it contains clues about gender roles, and I congratulate director Silvia Pradas. The film asks us how appropriate it is to enforce gender roles on our daughters and sons to the extent that we pressure them and even build fears within them. The answer to this question essentially varies by region and culture. But perhaps the most important thing here is raising a child with understanding rather than harsh rhetoric. Returning to the film, I definitely recommend it to everyone and send a big hug to little Pablo. Happy viewing!
